The Governing Body

The Local Governing Body

The multi-academy trust sets the framework which determines how the headteacher and staff run the school. The headteacher is responsible for the day-to-day management and the local governing body (LGB) for strategic decisions. The LGB is there as a critical friend to support and challenge the school to ensure that it achieves its vision. The LGB is accountable to parents, the wider community, the trust and the diocese.

The school joined The Partnership Trust on 1st July 2017 with the school’s local governing body answerable to the trustees. Details regarding The Partnership Trust can be found here https://thepartnershiptrust.co.uk/governors-area/

At Marksbury, we comprise representatives from the parent, teacher, church and wider communities. We have an expectation of excellence and continuous improvement. We work very closely with the staff to ensure that our finances, premises, curriculum and strategic direction are effectively managed, giving every child the opportunity to reach their full potential and to deliver this we have a team of governors each with a different role and responsibility. Vacancies occur from time to time, therefore If you would like to join the governors please contact the clerk on governorsclerk@marksburyschool.org.uk to express your interest .
